Diane Kavalchek

Diane Kavalchek is in her final year of a Master of Urban Planning and Development degree with a GIS certification from Cleveland State University (CSU). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a minor in Anthropology from CSU. Additionally, she has earned a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies, as well as a Plant and Pest Identification Certificate from Cuyahoga County Community College. Currently, she serves as a graduate teaching assistant and student employee, conducting GIS assessments and analyses for CSU’s Outdoor Safety Lighting Plan. Diane is a former business owner and educator. Her internship and seasonal work experience include positions such as seasonal biologist, stormwater inspector, green infrastructure specialist, and horticulturist. After graduation, she hopes to combine her GIS skills and knowledge of plants, stormwater control measures, and urban planning to promote balance between the built and natural environments, creating a more sustainable and resilient society.
